Two films top the Oscars shortlist



The nominations for the 80th Academy Awards hold been announced, with 'No Country for Old Men' and 'There Will Be Blood' leadership the short list with eight nominations for each one.
'Atonement', 'Juno' and 'Michael Clayton' have likewise received numerous nominations.
As expected Wicklow occupier Daniel Day-Lewis has been nominated for a Best Role player Academy Award for his performance in 'There Testament Be Blood'.
The other nominees for Best Actor are: George VI Clooney ('Michael Clayton'), Rebel Depp ('Sweeney Todd'), Tommy Lee John Paul Jones ('In the Valley of Elah') and Viggo Mortensen ('Eastern Promises').
The Charles Herbert Best Actress short list is: Cate Blanchett ('Elizabeth: The Golden Age'), Julie Dame Agatha Mary Clarissa Christie ('Away from Her'), Marion Cotillard ('La Contend en Rose'), Laura Linney ('The Savages') and Ellen Page ('Juno').
The nominees for Best Support Thespian are: Casey Affleck ('The Assassination of Jesse James II by the Coward Robert Ford'), Javier Bardem ('No State for Old Men'), Prince Philip Seymour Malvina Hoffman ('Charlie Wilson's War'), Hal Holbrook ('Into the Wild') and Tom Sir Geoffrey Wilkinson ('Michael Clayton').
Along with Irish adolescent Saoirse Ronan, Cate Blanchett ('I'm Non There'), Crimson Dee ('American Gangster'), Amy Ryan ('Gone Baby Gone') and Tilda Swinton ('Michael Clayton') have been nominated in the Topper Support Actress family.
Shortlisted for C. H. Best Managing director are: Julian Schnabel ('The Dive Bell and the Butterfly'), Jason Reitman ('Juno'), Tony Gilroy ('Michael Clayton'), Joel and Ethan Coen ('No Rural area for Old Men') and Paul Thomas Carl Anderson ('There Will Be Blood').
The films nominated for Best Icon are: 'Atonement', 'Michael Clayton', 'No Country for Old Men', 'There Volition Be Blood' and 'Juno'.
The phoebe films nominated for Best Foreign Film are: 'The Counterfeiters' (Republic of Austria), 'Beaufort' (Israel), 'Katyn' (Republic of Poland), 'Mongol' (Republic of Kazakhstan) and '12' (USSR).
The nominees for C. H. Best Documentary Characteristic are: 'No End in Sight', 'Operation Homecoming: Writing the Wartime Experience', 'Sicko', 'Taxi to the Dark Side' and 'War/Dance'. 
The nominees for Charles Herbert Best Animated Cinema ar: 'Persepolis', 'Ratatouille' and 'Surf's Up'.
The nominees for Best Adapted Screenplay are: St. Christopher Hampton ('Atonement'), Sarah Polley ('Away from Her'), Ronald Harwood ('The Diving event Bell and the Butterfly'), Joel and Ethan Coen ('No State for Old Men') and Paul the Apostle Thomas Anderson ('There Will Be Blood').
The nominees for Topper Original Screenplay are: Diablo Buffalo Bill ('Juno'), Nancy King Oliver ('Lars and the Real Girl'), Tony Gilroy ('Michael Clayton'), Jan Pinkava, Jim Capobianco and Brad Bird ('Ratatouille') and Tamara Jenkins ('The Savages').
